“In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and has been wisely regarded as a bad move.”

Spencer turns 2!

So, I've been neglectful recently, it seems.  I've been busy and it is a rare occasion that I actually get ON a computer. Weird, I know.  Darn cell phones making me a bad blogger. Since my last actual entry, Spencer turned two, my dad and brother came in to Oregon from Mississippi for a week and Garrett's sister and BIL came into Seattle/Portland from Nashville. But, first things first - Spencer's 2nd Birthday.

My, my myyyy how has two years gone by already?! It truly feels like just yesterday I was in the hospital with a little 8 and 1/2lb baby boy. Time can just pass you by without even feeling like it. The day before Spencer's birthday my dad and youngest brother, Alex, flew into Portland. I went to get them. My dad left his wallet in MS and his luggage was lost... in Atlanta.. lol. Flying doesn't go well for us Orsi's... at least the immediate ones.

Happy Birthday Boy!
We went to Smith River Falls, a small 8ft waterfall about 20 miles from Reedsport, OR. My dad, Alex and Garrett did the Lighthouse Tour and we wanted to see Heceta Head on the way back to Portland, but it was raining and it seemed the lighthouse was under construction anyway. Hopefully next time they visit we can all go to Crater Lake.

My how time flies. <3
We also went bowling one night. Spencer LOVED it. We got the rack to place the ball on so he could push it down.... he beat us most of the time, ha!

Spencer bowling for the first time with P-pop. He LOVED it!

Now, the next photos ended up out of order, but you get the idea, I hope. Two weeks later Britny and David came into down from TN. They were visiting Seattle and Portland and we met them in Portland. We stayed in a wonderful little (well, not so little) condo near Historic Hawthorne Blvd. I love that part of Portland, though we haven't ventured TOO, too far into it. We went to the International Rose Test Gardens the first night. I took SO many pictures of flowers, but considering there were 4 ACRES of roses, 132 photos is holding back lol. There were SO many and they were all different, cross breed roses. They were HUGE too. Some 8in, at least, across.

This was called the "Marilyn Monroe"

Mr. and Mrs. Awkward.
The next day we went to see the Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah Falls. Beautiful. Waterfalls are so amazing. I couldn't really get a good picture of Multnomah Falls because my camera couldn't zoom out enough and I couldn't get far enough away because it was so tall. The top tier being over 600ft and the second tier at least 100ft. Its the tallest waterfall in Oregon. We hope to see Latourel Falls and hike up to the top of Multnomah Falls sometime before we move... whenever that is.

On Wednesday Spencer has his speech therapy evaluation.. hopefully they can tell us what we need to be doing to help him speak. He only says things he is interested in, and even those words, for the most part, strangers wouldn't be able to understand. Fingers crossed!

I had my HSG done on June 29th... still haven't heard anything back even though I should have by that following Thursday. The radiologist said it all looked great, but I still don't have the official verdict after she, her supervisor and the obgyn looked at the results. I guess I could call, ha.

I go back to my psychiatrist on Thursday in Eugene. I don't notice a big difference with the Zoloft though the Ambien helps me sleep... it also helps me make Amazon purchases of books I've had hanging out in my cart for weeks, lol. I'm kind of worried the doctor will up my dosage to 100mg of Zoloft, I'm on 50mg now. I also have to take an additional 1200mcg of Folic Acid, or 2mg total with the 800mcg of Folic Acid in my prenatals. I don't want to take additional Folic Acid if we aren't actively trying for another, because TOO much of it isn't great for you. We still haven't totally decided what we are going to do about the baby thing at this point. A waiting game, but I know I want to wait a little bit, though I think Garrett would be okay to try again whenever. Then I worry about all the problems I've had, the sleeping meds I pretty much NEED to take to sleep when Garrett isn't home and the Zoloft, plus possibly having to up the dosage of it. I feel like I have the cards stacked against me WITHOUT having two types of meds I wasn't having to take BEFORE it all happened added to it, ya know? Worry, worry, worry.

Anyway, we are finally moving on Wednesday... finally finally. I am excited. They replaced all the carpet. It isn't the best carpet, but hey, its new and it looks pretty stain resistant lol. Its going to be a busy week!

the flowers

There are flowers in my garden, flowers in my yard, flowers in my kitchen. I tend to the indoor plants and I photograph the outdoor ones. They are weeds, people want us to cut them out and get rid of them, but they make me happy and I want them to stay. Grow over the whole walkway for all I care, happy little orange flowers. Wind all around my hose and spigot white lilly-like flowers. I'll leave them alone. They wake with us, and when the sun goes down, they close, open again every morning. No matter how many times they're mowed down, they spring right back up. So leave my "weeds", I love them and they make me happy just the way they are and exactly where they are. "A weed is but an unloved flower." :)

Morning Sky, Books, Something Funny and Colors

9:40am Oregon Sky, June 5, 2012
Day 5: Morning Sky

Day 6: Books
A Lucky Child by Thomas Buergenthal, this is the one I am currently reading.

Day 7: Something Funny
Spencer ripping off his father's lip, ahaha. Candid photos = best.

Day 8: Favorite Color
Red, in my painting.

New things... I had my obgyn appointment today. He discussed anti depressants, and basically told me to tell my psychiatrist to call him to discuss different meds. So, yeah. That appointment is on Thursday. He did the normal annual stuff, since I am overdue for them, and also took 7 vials of blood for MY part of the infertility testing. He put in a request for my hsg or hysterosalpingogram (HSG Test). I will call them on Cycle Day 1, and they will schedule it for around Cycle Day 7 or so. So, done and done. Garrett will need his done sometime soon. Basically, we have been given the O.K. to try again, but emotionally, I need a break, and Dr. G agrees that would be a good idea.

My youngest brother, Alex, and my dad are coming to visit this month! Oh, I am so thrilled! They will be here June 24th, just in time for Spencer's birthday! I'm glad we get to do a little something for him, because we had nothing planned as we didn't have anyone to do anything with really. My step mom used her frequent flyer miles to get them here. She won't be able to come as she works offshore and will be in Vietnam then. Soon though, soon!

Smiles, Happiness and Leaves

Day 2: Smiles.. awww, how cute. :)
Cracking up at something Daddy said.
Sweet, chubby baby-face!
Day 3: Happiness.
 Two happies here. ^
Scentsy smell-goods.
I love my smell goods, as anyone who knows me would know.
Also, its fleur de lis, which I love because I'm a Louisiana girl, no matter where I'm living now or ever.
Day 4: Leaves
Little growing plant in the woods by Loon Lake.
New life.

In about 9 weeks I am going to donate blood again. Since my plan for more children at the moment has been pushed aside until all the testing and etc passes, I want to find another way to help give life. I've always been able to donate my O- blood for pediatrics, babies in the NICU and just children in general. They put it in "baby bags" as they called it; just smaller sized bags for smaller patients. I have to wait 12 weeks from my Rhogam shot to be eligible, so 9ish more weeks now. I'm looking forward to it and to helping out families. Last time I donated blood, it was used within the week! Garrett said he will donate with me, he is O+.

My mouth is feeling much better, but it hasn't really bothered me much since I got them cut out. My main worry now is the antibiotics I have to take as they can give me a YI which I DO NOT want, ha.

I see Dr. G tomorrow, I'll inform everyone of what he has to say.

Its been raining all day here. Oregon has way too much rain.

I don't think Spencer feels too great today. He is being quiet, calm and snuggly. My child is NOT a snuggler (he probably got that from me) and he is not quiet OR calm! I gave him some Advil and he went straight to sleep... also something out of the norm for him. Sleeping is not on his list of favorite "to dos".

We are still waiting to hear about the townhouse across the street. Seems to deal is that the Coast Guard wants ALL of the carpet in housing to be replaced at once, not one house at a time. Problem with that is 7 of the 12 houses have people in them and one isnt ever going to be lived in again. Our house and the 4 houses in the "ghetto" (as we call it, they are just down at the end all by themselves) don't even HAVE carpeting in them and 3 of the 6 townhouses are occupied and no one is planning to move into housing (from the relocationed Coast Guard members) for about a year.. so they only need to carpet ours. They have to find a way around getting them ALL replaced, and that seems to be what the hold up is. Stupid if you ask me! Should know more on that today once Garrett talks to DC3 Dodd, who is supposed to talk to Master Chief today.

Garrett's car is broken down - again. We have replaced the battery 4 times (no charge the last few times since we just traded them in for a different one) and its still being slowly drained. The shop doesn't know whats going on and we aren't going to put any more money into the car. Its just not worth enough to bother. So, we are going to keep dealing with it, jumping it and charging the battery with the battery charger we have in the garage, and save up money until we have enough to trade it in. I don't want to buy ANOTHER new(ish) car, but there is just no point in having two if one isn't reliable at all and it keeps costing us money. Maybe by the time or a bit before my Dodge is paid off in February, we will get him another one. Cars are an expensive headache, I tell you!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 1.

Day 1: Favorite Food
So, not exactly my favorite food, but who on earth has their favorite food conveniently on the day they are to start this 30 day photo challenge? Actually, after much thinking about it, I don't have a favorite food anymore. *pouts*

Anyway, this was pretty good!
In case anyone wants to know what is it..

Savory Garlic Chicken & Spinach:
A lb of chicken breasts, diced
A julienned red pepper
6oz of spinach (mine was chopped, so I had a tad bit too much)
Penne pasta
Philadelphia Cooking Creme: Savory Garlic
How to:
Cook julienned peppers and diced chicken in a skillet.
Add spinach and cooking creme,
and then put over pasta.
Easy Peasy.

No pun intended. :)

-----

Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth cut out. I was scared and my blood pressure was running a bit higher than usual. 118/80. After I woke up it was 90/62 and they kept doing the machine over and over and over because they thought it was wrong. I heard them say a few times, "It was really low the whole time, it was running low before the surgery. She said its usually low." The highest it got when pregnant with Spencer was 109/80. So, yes, I'm not dead and apparently my BP is lower than a normal persons.

But, my mouth feels awesome! Seriously! It hurt 15x worse yesterday BEFORE the surgery, what with the pinched cheek skin and pressure and what not. My mouth feels like a new mouth! Even with the craters and sutures. Glad for no more oral surgery... hopefully ever, again.

Now I see Dr. G on Tuesday for a "follow up" and then I see my psychiatrist Dr. T for the first time, on Thursday. I am looking forward to getting back on track, feeling better, and I'm actually looking forward to Auntie Flo's return so we can get this genetic/infertility/miscarriage testing show on the road.

Plus, my baby will be TWO in three weeks! What the crap, Time, why must you fly by???

PS. I don't know why my blog made this into an enclosed box, but, I can't fix it. Adios. :)

"Hey, I wish I could speak whale."

Why doesn't my blog just cooperate with me?
I want picture left, text right, fight fight fight.
So picture goes left and text goes underneath and centered?
Oh, now its above and right. I give up.
Technology, you win.. again. You aren't worth the headache you cause.
El-Spencerino making his daddy a Father's Day gift.
Nearly completed masterpiece.
Yesterday, since Garrett is at work a majority of our lives,
I decided to help Spencer make his Daddy's Father's Day gift.
These little hands can do so much damage.
I know its early, but hey, it'll be nice and dry by then.
So, there ya have it. Hopefully father dear doesn't check the blog.
In hindsight, he may, but doubtful.

Thoroughly disgusted.

This sweet baby is currently giving me hugs, and waving to himself in a mirror that is on the floor. He keeps slowly sneaking to the computer keyboard or mouse, because you know little fingers can hardly resist the temptation - ok, they can't.

Garrett will be coming home tomorrow morning, earlier than usual. I have my oral surgeon appointment at 10am to get these last two wise-ol teeth out. Oh, of course I am scared. Scared today is my last day of vision and that I will never be able to see again after I regain consciousness after my coma. See for yourself : MTV: True Life: I'm Losing My Sight.

If you see me back here tomorrow: I've survived! Well, unless, of course, I'm totally out of it. Wish me luck! :)

Loon-ie Lake

May 28, 2012
The sunsets here are just gorgeous. No matter how many pictures I take of them, the colors just aren't there like they are when you see them in person. These are my Angel's sunsets.

-----------------------------------------
May, 29, 2012
 In my little ready-made garden.
I've been practicing my photography. Its really nothing special at this point. I really need a macro lens to do what I really want to with it. I'm learning, learning learning.
May 29, 2012
My Mother's Day orchids from Garrett.
May 10, 2012, and they're still blooming. 17 flowers in all, none have died yet.
We went to Loon Lake, a lake/state park recreation area near our house. Everyone says its always 15 degrees warmer there, and even if it is raining in Winchester Bay, it will be sunny there. It was! So warm! 70 degrees! We have become so used to 45 degrees, we were hot!

May 29, 2012
He doesn't like my kisses, or taking pictures with me. This is why they are few and far between.
May 29, 2012
We had a wet butt after this one!
May 29, 2012
Daddy took this one (obviously)... another failed attempt at pictures with his mother, ha.
May 29, 2012
Daddy and son. Yes, this is what Oregon looks like -- all over. On a sunny day in Spring.
May 29, 2012
There are VERY few pictures of Garrett and me. We have been married for 1 year and 2 months now. Somehow we always manage to wear the same color shirts. Its really stupid. In my defense, I was dressed first this day. :) <3

May 29, 2012
This was the day before, just a few random shots I took in the backyard.
May 28, 2012
Now, onto today. This is my new rug that I got (in the mail!) today. It was leaning up against the side of the house when UPS dropped it off. You should have seen me dragging this 10ft long rolled up rug into my house fighting a regular door, a screen door and a two year old. I'm sure it was entertaining to the neighbors.

May 30, 2012

May 29, 2012. Mama and sweet, yet uncooperative, son.
May 30, 2012. Children's imagination. Just what I would have done as a kid. rugs make great cities.
Alas, a decent one! May 29, 2012.

This is just mainly a picture post. We are still waiting to move across the street, its been almost two weeks since we were supposed to have moved. Its been pretty here the past few days, not as much rain and much more sun.

Spencer has been a holy terror on two feet this week. Everything we do sets him into a downward spiral of tears, screaming, crying and hitting/punching things or throwing. Yay. Sometimes he is so sweet, and then Mr. Hyde appears. Its scary! I hope this is a short phase!

He will be two in a few weeks. Hard to believe the time went that fast. Our friend Rachael and her husband Sean just welcomed a baby boy into the world today, Sheldon Daniel. His gender was a surprise! Her oldest son, Kale, is three weeks older than Spencer and will be two on Saturday. Our English friends, Laurel and Dom are due for baby #2 (mark my words, GIRL!) in November. Their oldest daughter, Maisie, is three weeks or so younger than Spencer. They are to marry one day. :) We have decided that when and if we have another baby, we will NOT be finding out the baby's gender. Sorry, y'all. Ha. Its been decided! We just want a baby at this point and do not care which version we get. :)

On another note, Laurel says odd things and we are having a serious problem with communication at the moment. Who knew "going to have a butcher" meant "going to take a look"? Well, not me! Hahah. Silly Englishy-folk! <3 One day we will get over that way to meet them!

On to newer news, possible news. Garrett may be changing his rate. He is currently on the A School list for MST (Marine Science Technician <-- I have the HARDEST time spelling that word.) but the wait list to go is running at almost three and a half years. We don't want to wait that long to leave Oregon. He is thinking about changing his A School to AET (Avionics Electrical Technician), the wait list for that is 18+ months. The one catch is that the school is 5 months long as opposed to MST's being 8 weeks long. The Coast Guard would not pay to move Spencer and I to Elizabeth City, NC (where the school is), so we would have to save to be able to move with him when the time comes. I am looking forward to it.
